370 Cities Across The World Announce Trump Inauguration Protests

If you have listened to the news within the past few weeks or so, chances are that you have heard about the myriad of women’s marches and anti-Trump protests happening all across the United States.

On the day of the inauguration and the day after, Americans are planning on making their voices heard. However, not many Americans are aware of the fact that they are not alone. Although it is rare for groups of people across the planet to protest the election of foreign leaders, it would appear that the inauguration of Donald J. Trump is a huge cause for concern all across the world.

In what seems like an unprecedented display of solidarity, a whopping 370 cities across the globe will be hosting protests against the election of the former reality star. Every continent except for Antartica will be playing a part, and estimates indicate that upwards of 700,000 people will be joining in to make their voices heard. London will be joining in with fervor, and many news outlets are reporting that their protesters will top 15,000 or so. In London particularly, the recent wave of right-wing government moves across Europe has concerned many women.

Organizers of these protests have cited a rise in global hate speech in the wake of Trump’s election, and they are more committed than ever to making sure that they put a stop to this kind of rhetoric. With human rights watchdogs across the world gearing up to guard the most vulnerable against attacks by politicians and government figures, it seems that Trump and his ilk should not expect to have their statements go unchallenged after the inauguration. If anything, it seems as if his tweets and loose manner of speaking have galvanized groups around the world to stand up for their rights.
